Metal & Composite Printing
Composite Printing
Generally, custom metal printing produces brittle prints. However, it is important to note that our metal printing produces high-quality products that can serve you for a more extended period when you take good care of them. Our parts can be used in systems like turbine parts, rocket engines, and heat exchanges.
Metal Composite Printing
Afra Printing mixes metal composites with plastic filaments to produce 3D parts that look like real metal. Metal printing provides you with the most incredible print on any kind of metal and metal composite panels.
How Do We Print Metal Composites?
First, there is a need to understand that metal filaments contain approximately 40 to 60% fine metal powder mixed with polylactic acid (PLA). Do not confuse these with filaments that are metallic in color. Generally, metal composite filaments tend to be heavier than normal PLA.
Carbon Fiber Nylon
Carbon fiber is another additive available for desktop 3D printing. Carbon fiber nylon produces strong yet lightweight materials that are used by a number of professionals. Racing teams in Formula 1 use it because of the stiffness and lightweight nature of carbon fiber. It provides them with the speed and agility they need.
